Development Diary #1: Mother

Introduction

As you know, Mother is already a reality, as we presented its visual identity a few months ago. It’s not something we can or want to hide: our references to P.T. have been fundamental in starting this development.

The question that arises is: why begin our first game with an idea that, at first glance, may seem less original than typical indie games, where the visuals are usually more distinctive and unique? In our case, as a company, we want to focus on offering the highest level of realism possible in our adventures, always using cinema as a reference.

Another key aspect is the loss of that sense of classic horror, where the player can feel fear without directly encountering the danger. This has also been reflected in cinema, and these are the main reasons behind the creation of Mother.

Game Development Update

Currently, our efforts are focused on perfecting the interior designs where the game will take place. We expect to complete this phase in the coming weeks so we can shift our attention to the atmosphere, one of the most important aspects, as it is essential for achieving the desired level of immersion.

One of our main commitments is optimizing the game, exploring visual alternatives for elements that may seem simple but significantly increase graphical demand. Our goal is to ensure that the game can run on graphics cards like the GTX 1060 without sacrificing atmosphere or realism.

Additionally, we are improving the interaction system and rethinking its visual aspect, while gathering various resources to ensure an optimal experience.

Release Date

We regret not being able to provide more details at this stage, as we are still in a very early phase of the project. Our goal is to launch the Steam store at the beginning of 2025, along with the release of our second teaser. We estimate that Mother will be released between the third and fourth quarter of 2025.

We want to thank you for reading this first entry of our development diary, and we hope you enjoyed it.
